
Ahmad Halabisaz was born in 1984 in Mashhad, Iran. He started as an amateur photographer in 1999 when he was 15. He studied photojournalism at the Iranian Journalists Association University in Tehran. He launched his career started in 2004 with working for various Iranian news agencies and newspapers as a freelance photojournalist. He joined Xinhua News Agency in 2009.
Ahmad has also worked in Turkey, China, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. His photos have appeared in Newsweek, The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Time, The Los Angeles Times, Le Monde and many other international media outlets. He has won several awards, including the Deadline Club Awards New York and the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. His works have been exhibited in Iran, France and China. Now Ahmad is working on his own projects in Tehran, Iran.
